Monday, September 19, 2016

Sayang Heulang is the name of a famous beach at Garut, East Java. Sayang Heulang beach is located at Mancagahar Village, Pameungpeuk Districts, Garut, East Java, and 88 km from central Garut. It is near to another famous Santolo Beach. It has been a long time when Sayang Heulang Beach became a local and tourist attraction. As same as the other beaches that located at Southern Sea of Java, Sayang Heulang also has some mystic stories. However, the beautiful panoramic views here still attract so many people to come despite its mystic stories.

What is in Sayang Heulang Beach?

Undoubtedly, Sayang Heulang beach has very beautiful scenery. The vast ocean combine with the green hills amazingly will attract any people. The unique one about Sayang Heulang is it has 2 types of beach. Here you can find coral beach and non-coral beach. At low tide, you can playing and see sea creatures in the coral. The sea water is so clean that you can see many beautiful corals. Sayang Heulang Beach also has white brownish sand. For adventurous people, Sayang Heulang Beach provides a camping ground and fishing site too.

What to do at Sayang Heulang Beach?

Having a vacation at Sayang Heulang beach really give me a healing time. You can strolling along the seashore, playing in the water or just simply sit and relax on the sand while enjoying the view. Here is one of the best spot for sunrise and sunset. Taking photos is a must! There are many photographers who capture the amazing sunrise and sunset moment here. Not only that, the panoramic view here is also majestic.

As I stated before, there is a camping ground also at Sayang Heulang Beach. For people who searches for a little adventurous vacation, camping at the beach? Why not? At day time, you can freely playing on the beach and socialize with the local fisherman. When a low tide is coming, just play at the coral beach and you will see small fishes swimming around. On my trip, I found that many local fishers collected something called “Mata Lembu” at low tide. It is a type of sea snail and you can eat it boiled. If you are lucky enough, you can find a lobster too. At night time, sit around the bonfire while singing and feeling the sea breeze with your friends. It will be another unforgettable experience for you.

How to Get There?

There are two routes that you can choose.
  1. Garut - Cikajang - Pameungpeuk
  2. Bandung - Pengalengan - Rancabuaya - Santolo

On my trip, I went to Sayang Heulang Beach with the first route. The road condition was good and you can see beautiful scenery also along the journey.
