VACAY GUIDES : ONE DAY HANBOK

Thursday, December 01, 2016

As a promise from last week, on this post I will give you information about One Day Hanbok. One Day Hanbok is my recommended hanbok rental place in Seoul. At first, I knew about this place from other tourists that we met at Gyeongbokgung Palace. They gave us the business card and said that we should contact One Day Hanbok which located near Chungmuro Station. So yes, you can find out more in this post.

Before that, I want to give you some idea of what is Hanbok. Hanbok is a traditional dress from Korea with colorful bright colors and usually it doesn’t have any pouches. Hanbok is known as an outfit from Joseon Dynasty however for special occasions like wedding ceremony or a funeral, they still wear it nowadays. Of course, today’s hanbok is simpler so it will be easier to wear it.

Okay, back to One Day Hanbok. As I said before, One Day Hanbok is a place that rent Hanbok to tourists. Other than hanbok rental, they also offer other packages for tourist like photographer and group tour. The location of this hanbok rental store is in front of Chungmuro Station but they will move to Bukchon Area starting from December 9th, 2016. More information will be given later on the end of this post.

The One Day Hanbok that I visited was still located near Chungmuro Station. Just in front of Exit 8 and at the same building with KB Bank and KIA Motors. After we got the information by phone, they said One Day Hanbok is on the 3rd floor. There were so many tourists queuing to rent a hanbok. We had to wait for about 30 until 45 minutes. Their staffs will call our name if the time arrived.

After being called, they will bring us to a room full of Hanbok and we can choose which hanbok that we want to wear. They also provide lockers to put your belongings. The hanbok dresses already separated by its sizes. Choose a hanbok that well-fitted to you. There are 2 chances to try a hanbok that you want. The staffs were quick enough and well-respond to help you wearing the hanbok dress. That time, I chose a hanbok with pink and dark blue color. There were so many pretty dresses. One Day Hanbok also have hair accessories and small hand bags for you to bring. So, just grab your handphone and some money. Your other belongings will be safe in the locker.

PRICE
Hanbok rental per hour = 4.500 KRW with minimum of rental time for 4 hours.
Hanbok rental per day = 26.000 KRW.

I think it’s not so expensive because you will a complete package from dress, hair accessories, and hand bag too. You also can put your other belongings on their locker.
